GALLERY INVITES

A gallery is a collection of images from one or multiple albums. When you are invited to a gallery, the gallery can have a visibility of either “invite only” or “public.”

An “invite only” gallery can only be seen by the people invited. This method restricts access to the gallery to the people whose specific emails were sent an invite.

INVITATIONS TO A “PUBLIC” GALLERY?

A "Public Gallery" is visible to anyone. Images in Public Galleries can be viewed via the search function, in web searches, and  by the people invited to the gallery.

“Invite-Only” and “Password” galleries are only visible to the people invited to view them. Invitees to these galleries can also be granted high-resolution download capability.

HIGH RESOLUTION DOWNLOAD OPTIONS

Galleries can have a variety of download options including high-resolution downloads.

Hi-Res Download: Available options 1) original file format (e.g. RAW, PSD), 2) TIFF, 3) JPG. If the file is already a JPG, the selection is moot.
Image Size: Images can be one of several preset sizes, or a custom size. This is the size in pixels (width) that the images will be delivered to our clients.
Max # of downloads: The maximum number of download may be restricted. If you can no longer download, you may have reached the maximum # of downloads. Contact the studio for help, 403-540-5530.

I DON'T HAVE A PHOTOSHELTER ACCOUNT

No worries, creating an account is easy and it's free. When you receive an invitation from Gilmour Photography to view an image gallery you'll need to create an account on our PhotoShelter image viewing and download system before you can access the images. Invitations will look similar to this:

Clicking on the link for the first time, directs you to a page where you can set a password:

The password you set must be a minimum of 6 characters. This will activate your free PhotoShelter account which you can use in the future to view additional galleries, choose selects for processing or license images. Once you have set your password on your account, or if you already have an account, you will be directed to the gallery that we invited you to.

 

VIEWING CUSTOM SETS

To view a custom set you must log in to a free Gilmour Photography PhotoShelter account. If email level access was given to you, you will automatically be logged in and see the custom sets. If access was not tied to your email address, click the "login" link on the top right corner of the client proofing page. Here, you will be prompted to login, or create a free account. 

A thumbnail view of all the images is presented in the gallery. Clicking on the image will bring up the screen resolution version of the image. The images may be watermarked.

You may find a download link on the image page. If we have set up low-res comp downloads, you will also be able to use this link to download a comp.

Clicking on one of these links will prompt you to save the file to your computer. Like any download, the location is determined by your browser preferences. High-resolution downloads will take longer to download.

Note: Custom sets can only be created by the photographer. At this time it is not possible for clients to create custom sets of their own.

 

FILTER IMAGES BY ORIENTATION, KEYWORD, STAR RATING, CUSTOM SETS

From the panel on the left, the client may filter the images in the gallery by:

• Orientation - horizontal or vertical
• Category - pulled from the keywords entered in the metadata for the images. Keywords that exist on every image in the gallery will be excluded from the filters to ensure this filter is useful for all viewers.
• Star Rating - pulled from the ratings made in the metadata either in the editing program we use, or edits/additions you make in the Actions dropdown in your Image Browser.
• Custom Set - as created by the photographer
• Any combination of the above that have common images.

Using multiple filters at once (for instance, filtering by orientation and then by keyword) can really help to refine things. Gilmour Photography can choose specific keywords for filtering. Any keywords that exist on all images in the gallery will be excluded so the filtering will be more precise.

VIEWING OPTIONS

You may use the thumbnail view to get a better sense of the entire shoot, or switch to the larger view to see each image in detail. 

ONE-CLICK- FAVOURITES

To select (or "favourite") an image, hover over a thumbnail, and a + sign will appear in the upper right corner.

When that + sign is clicked, you will be asked to login to save your selections ONLY IF access was not already tied to your email address, in which case you would have been asked to login at the beginning of the process. Favorites are only saved and shared with Gilmour Photography if the you log into an account. This way, Gilmour Photography can tie those selections to your name/email address.

If you do not already have a PhotoShelter account of some sort, you may click the Create one now link to sign up for one. It's totally free, and all we require is a name, email address and password.  

Immediately after login/signup, you will be taken right back to the image you tried to select, and that + sign will now be a check mark, indicating a successful selection. 

Alternatively, if the larger, single image view is engaged, keyboard shortcuts may be used to even further simplify the browsing and selection process. The left and right arrows to go back and forth between images, and the up arrow to favorite.

You may now select as many images as you like. At any point, the Review Favorites button located at the top right corner of the page may be clicked to see what’s been selected so far.

When finished and ready to share your selections, just click Send, and Gilmour Photography will be immediately notified via email.
